Road Trip Scrapbook · Last updated: June 24, 2026

Road Trip Scrapbook lets you pin your travel photos on a map and share the trip with family and friends. This policy explains what the app collects, how it’s used, and the control you have over it. In short: we collect only what the app needs to work, we don’t require an account, and we never sell your data or use advertising or tracking.

No account required

The app does not ask you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or a password. When you create a trip, the app generates private keys for it, stored securely on your device. You can share the trip link with friends or family, who can also edit the trip, or send a link that only allows viewing. Anyone who has a link can use it, so share carefully.

What we collect

We only collect the content you choose to add to a trip:

Camera and photo access

The app asks permission to use your camera and photo library so you can add photos to a trip. We only read the photos you specifically select or capture — the app never scans or uploads your photo library on its own.

Location

The app requests location access only to tag the photo you are taking with where it was taken. When granted, it takes a single reading at the moment of capture — it does not track your location in the background. You can decline location access and still use the app fully by placing photos on the map yourself.

How your data is stored and used

The trips and photos you add are sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and stored on Microsoft Azure cloud servers so they can be shown on the map and shared via your trip link. We use this information solely to provide the app’s features — not for advertising or profiling.

Third-party services

The app contains no analytics, advertising, crash-tracking, or user-tracking software. We do not sell or rent your data.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your trips and photos are kept until you delete them. You can delete an individual photo at any time, or permanently delete an entire trip — either action removes the data from our servers. If you’d like help deleting your data, contact us below.

Children’s privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your information. Because the app works without an account, much of this is already in your hands — you can view and delete your trips and photos directly in the app. For anything else, contact us. We do not sell personal information.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections and stored on Microsoft Azure’s secured infrastructure. Trip keys are stored in your device’s secure Keychain. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above.
